Apperance: is a colorless monoclinic prism crystal with deliquescence.

Nature: cancellous 1008/m2, dense 1024/m2. Soluble in water, slightly soluble in glycerol and alcohol, insoluble in acetone and acetic acid. Anhydrous magnesium sulfate is produced by dehydration at 320~330 ℃. See magnesium sulfate heptahydrate for other properties.
